one cartoon a day

from the creator of, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" and "Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale" comes this book - "You Can Never Find a Rickshaw When It Monsoons"

in 1990, mo willems graduated from nyu with a degree in animation at 22 and he decided to go backpacking, but not just europe. he would take a year long journey around the world backpacking from one end of the world and back home, the long way.

everyday, he would draw in his journal an event that stood out and this book was the result of this journey.

the book one big collection of cultural anecdotes, stuff you'll never find in a travel book.

it's a good read for someone who dreams of traveling around the world, but have to settle with vicariously living through someone else's travels, like i do. he's a fellow animation major, maybe he was on to something.

biker's beer.

what's the drink of choice for a blonde girl in a pink dress pedaling a commuter bicycle?

why, it's stella artois of course.

very educational

i came across someone's carbon carbon copy report card and this was on the bottom of the paper.

cum=white

the report card didn''t have letter grades like "A", "B", "C", "D", or "F." i heard while back how the schools are trying a numbering system of 1-10 or non-negative terms in report cards instead of letter grades because they hurt the children's self-esteem.

ok so there's a new system to tell kids they're stupid. now instead of getting a "F," and the children getting all emo about it they can get a "1" and be emo about it.

are we really addressing the problem??
