computer love...

i was only looking at toys when i stumbled across this...
you may remember a past post where i wrote about the humping stuffed animal but this gets dirtier

so you take the cap off of the dog's male end (computer term) of the usb plug, cuz this dog don't need any protection, and you stick it into the female port (computer term) and watch him go.

they are available in white, black, and brown cuz love don't discriminate... except against yellow dogs. i'm sick and tired of seeing yellow laptops with white dogs, or with black dogs with bigger hard drives. but that's another story for another time.

here is a sex tape that got leaked out with a usb dog showing a laptop who's boss. too bad it has gak jie (blur filter).

middle of the night bloggin'

i had some pictures i wanted to blog about a while back but never got around to. i'm looking for excuses not to work on my midterm. why? because i'm stupid. that's it, plain and simple. so with that said, this is a good as time as any to get these pictures out.

i bought this during my break at work. i still can't get over the fact they labeled with the out-dated term chinese apple. hell, we chinese don't even call it an apple.
and a side note, the tea wasn't even all that great. i want my money back.

i went grocery shopping the other day. and what does a 23 year old college student buy when he goes shopping for groceries?

...nothing but frozen dinners and frozen celeste pizza.

now the opinion from jev is that deluxe is the best kinda celeste pizza they offer with sausage, green and red peppers, and mushrooms. when it comes to this kinda stuff i trust jev.

but there was a suprema with sausage, green and red peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, onions and olives.

so i guess if you're into pepperoni, onion and olives go for the suprema. but either way you win because you can "microwave in 4 minutes" and have it ready to eat!

i was at the japanese supermarket with tiff a while back and jev had asked me to buy him some of the koala chocolate filled cookies, so i did. when i gave them to him he said that he gets them from a store near work all the time.

so how do they taste? i don't know, he didn't offer me any. i've only had the cheap generic knock offs with a panda bear.
the box design looks cool though. you don't seem many packaging coming in a hexagon shape, probably because it makes packing and shipping a bitch, but it's one of a kind.

i also picked this up. it's by the same good people of glico. i can call it pocky this time because it actually is pocky. jane corrected me about my past posts when i called the non-coated biscuit sticks pocky.
i haven't tried these either. they're just laying on my desk. i think ber and scott were laughing at the collection of snacks on the corner of my desk when they were over for movie night. i think ber was mumbling "where does he get this stuff?"
they were either looking at that or the mess that was around the entire desk.

well that's it, i think i'm going to head to bed, but i'm not feeling too good about this entry. it feels like i just put it out there to get it over with.
tif was right when she said my posts read like a journal entry, something i've tried to avoid.

i need something to restore my vigor for blogging. but i just started with blogger and i don't want to take a break from it. i don't think i can get the ball rolling again if i do. i guess i'll have to write my way out of this one. bear with me guys.

Taking Him for a Walk

i was working at the library today and i glanced over and saw a kid in a leash. i've seen kids in a leash before and my view on it's not only degrading for the child but for the parent on the other end. you're not walking a dog, just take the time to watch after him/her if you don't want to carry him/her.
maybe it's a no wanting to let go issue.

whatever the case, this time it was different because it wasn't a straight up harness and leash. It was disguised as a cute little backpack in a shape of an animal. a leash is a leash, no matter what you try to play it off as.

would the next step be a shock collar? while you're at it why don't you put a flea collar on the kid and you don't have to bathe your child since we're trying to cross things to do on the list of responsibilities of a parent.

impromptu post

Many of my posts are a couple of weeks late and planned after the matter. This entry is going to be one of my first spur of the moment entry.

We're all at lollicup planning the seattle/canada trip even though wen and jev aren't going.
this is devotion.
this is krew varsity first string starters. (definition: the krew veterans who are down for whatever, whenever)

(from left to right me, ber, scott, wen)
It was hard to take a group photo and get me in too so I just took a picutre our reflection from the window.
Ber: "It'll be funny if someone outside walks by and wondering what we're doing...har har"

The Droste Effect

This is a picture of me blogging this

"The "Droste effect" is a Dutch term for a specific kind of recursive picture. An image exhibiting the Droste effect depicts a smaller version of itself in a place where a similar picture would realistically be expected to appear. This smaller version then depicts an even smaller version of itself in the same place, and so on. Only in theory could this go on forever, but practically it continues only as long as the resolution of the picture allows, which is relatively short, since each iteration exponentially reduces the picture's size."

this also shows how far we've advanced in technology. i can take a picture with wendy's wireless phone and send it instanly to my e-mail, where i can download it and post the picture via wi-fi connection on my laptop to my blog and on the internet for anyone in the world to see within a matter of seconds.

Hiking After Party

After hiking we had tiwanese food for dinner at simba. There wasn't much to say about that dinner, but after the dinner we bought a slice of green tea cake because it was the 17th over at China for the after party cuz that's how we do.

So we headed over the lollicup to ichat with steven.

We sang him happy birthday and he even blew out the candle.

This is a picture of scott after he drop the cake as he attempted to show steven the slice of cake we got him. Luckily he had a cover for his keyboard, but the girl sitting next to us was laughing her ass off.

Hiking - Part Deux

So a week after we took the wrong trail (04.16.07) we headed back...with vengeance, ready to kick the trail's ass.

The beginning of the trail seemed promising enough since we actually found the right path.

Off we go...
This time the scenery seemed more green and the path more like a real path.

First sign of water. Something we didn't see the last time.
Scott was examining the water searching for tadpoles that weren't there.

Scott conquering again.

Aw... they look like they're holding hands.

Scott: "Why are taking pictures of us, do you want me to take one with you in it?"

Lets take a picture of Michael with our imaginary cameras...click...

There was an ominous looking basket on the path. Why it was there or how it got there I don't know.

At this point we could hear the waterfall which was a good sign.

Group photo...

It was a good photo op

Heading back...

So this hike was twice as long as the one we took at Monrovia with it being 3 miles round trip, but it was definitely worth it. This waterfall was bigger than the last one, and compared to our last failed hike it was more enjoyable. We actually saw people along the way.

At the beginning of the hike we kept seeing kids coming back, and for a while there was a lady walking her dog behind us, talking on her cell phone. According to Scott she was not "getting the full experience"

We also came cross Vietnamese kids hiking ahead of us. The girls had on flipflops and we were kinda worried us since we had to climb and hop rocks. I'm guessing they didn't plan on the hike. They took the wrong path walking up the bridge instead of under it and we passed them. We were at the waterfall for a while and didn't see them, but we saw them again as we were heading back and it was already getting dark. I was considering taking a photo of them just in case they turn up missing.

Hiking Part - I

kel ims me on april 4th and asks me if i want to go hiking with her and scott that was the beginning. we drove around trying to find a big5 that would sell the parking pass for the trail we were heading to, to no avail. it got late and we decided to try again next week, and the day ended with scott getting some nasty gum at target.

the next week (4.09.07) we decided to hike at a different park. so we setted off for eaton canyon and their waterfall.

we crossed a wash and started off at moist canyon. this path was lacking in the moist department. there weren't much greenery or water. it didn't look at nice as the one in monrovia canyon. we didn't see anyone on the trail we took.

Um... long story short we took the wrong path and ended up with a dead end.

But Scott did conquer that dead end.

And since we made it this far we decided to at least take a group picture.

And when we headed back we encountered a snake. After much debate and waiting for the snake to move along, we decided to maneuver around it.

This picture didn't fit anywhere so here is a good place as any. Doesn't the branches resemble a deer?

By the end we were pretty pissed at the trail and the unmoist Moist Canyon.

And for more photos of this hike head over to MoistCanyonPhotos.

We decided to head back next week to find that waterfall.

to be continued...
The next post will feature Hiking - Part II. Will we ever find that waterfall?
Here's a sneak preview.

A Moment of Clarity

I woke up in the middle of the night and oddly the first thing that came to mind was the meteorologist gag "Family Guy" run in their episodes. Tom Tucker the anchor man would read his story and pitch it to the meteorologist Ollie Williams.

Tom Tucker: And now time for Ollie Williams with the Black-U-Weather Forecast. Ollie?
Ollie: It gon' rain!
Tom Tucker: Thanks, Ollie.

Funny gag, but before last night I've always just thought it was that, a gag, a gag about an agry meterorologist. But this morning when I awoke I realized that it was a parody on the NBC's "Today" achors who pitch it to Al Roker and he gives an short teaser for the weather where he usually just reports of the obvious. They don't give you a forecast of the day or the week, but give you information you could get from looking out the window.

I'm sorry for pointing out the obvious, I'm kinda slooooooooooooooooow.

'Cause I'm Bigger Than My Body Gives Me Credit For

Its spring and another number has just rolled over on the age dial. I’m friggin’ 23 dammit. It’s all downhill from here; the mid-twenties. I’m nearing the end of my college career. I’m at the end of one stage of my life and about to start another.

I’m trying desperately to hold on my slacker life of waking up in the afternoons and staying in my pjs throughout the day, but the enlistment and deployment to the workforce is inevitable.

When I was growing up I always thought I was destined to do something great in life and now I’m left wondering "Is this really it?"

I don’t want to be reading this entry 40 years from now regretting my life.
It’s the start of a new chapter. This is the start of something new and the start of something big.
I don’t want to be reading this entry 40 years from now laughing at how naïve I was.

So is this really it? No, not by a long shot.
Do I know what’s ahead of me? No, but that’s half the fun.

This is just the beginning.
