most people would agree i am guy of few words, indifferent to most things - stoic, but damn last night ROCKED! i have a feeling i'm gonna have to hit up thesaurus.com to come up with a steady stream of adjectives to describe the night. i'll probably even make up some words.
message from the writer pt. 2 - i usually just do quick hits on my blogs, short and simple and to the point, but brace yourselves, this one is gonna be a long one.
message from the writer pt. 3 - yes, i am aware i didn't have a message from the writer pt. 1, and i rather spend another pt. to explain myself than go back and add in a pt. 1, cuz that's the kinda guy i am. now on with the blog.
i was lucky enough to have witnessed john mayer's concert last night, a concert benefiting the L.A. food bank and Toys for Tots.

(limited edition of this poster was on sale for $40 at the show)
Adele opened for john mayer last night. she's a grammy nominated singer from the UK. her voice sounds like amy winehouse minus the drugs. her songs remind me of the mellow stuff lauren hill used to do. check out "chasing pavements"

the show was at the new nokia theater in downtown LA next to staples center in.
he had his show streaming live on vid on his website last night.
the venue was pretty nice. there were nice seats and it wasn't too big.
the show last about 2 1/2 hours but the time just flew by.
hardly any left before the encore.

sadly my camera's battery died and i had to resort to my blackberry to pics and videos.
his rants and banter were awesome, funny and at times philosophical - really made yah think.
the concert was all him, pure and acoustic. (expect during the encore when i brought out his electric guitar)

there was even a part of the show when he used a
drum machine not to be confused with an
electric drum) and it was killer... wait, not even killer, it was killah. he had loop going through "humming bird" as he played his guitar but started freestyling the drum machine at the bridge.

he donned santa's hat for "st. patricks day" a song about the holidays.
he did a cover of "i heard it through the grape vine" but the beat of "love lock down" on the drum machine. he did a few covers and in his encore he covered cold play's "lost".
he has last night's concert streaming on his website, i'm not sure how long he'll have it up.

i wish i was at that concert again tonight.
