day two

"my man said 'life ain't easy,' when n****** gotta eat, that's when shit gets greasy."
second day of working the new shift.
i felt like shit this morning.
but felt great when 2 rolled around.

got back to "east of LA" around 2:30 and finally picked up the simpsons movie dvd.
have you copped your copy yet?

the cover is like the movie poster. i like the nice clean cut white background on the design of the dvd box. it's simple and homer is such a easily recognizable character theres no need to make it flashy. i suppose that's just the minimalists in me speaking. the dvd disc fittingly has a homer donut graphic on it.

i picked up the exclusive edition and it came with a map of springfield. pretty neat map and it even have advertisements from the shops of springfield. neato i say!

i also picked up a copy of lupe fiasco's new cd. otto told me about this and i *ahem* acquired a back-up copy. i was so blown away by the cd i actually went out got the cd. his flow varies from track to track and i like that. he's not just limited just one. the beats are good, and the message he's trying to get out is positive too. almost every track got me boucin' to the beat.

for those who don't know who lupe is he's a rapper from chi town. he kinda reminds me of kanye without the ego and wack rhymes. the cd i got today was also an exclusive edition with a bonus track, a track i haven't heard, and again it blew me away when i got a chance to listen to it. nice, nice, i don't know if it's your cup of tea but recommend it.

check out this cool music for "us placers" a track found in kanye's mix tape entitled "can't tell me nothing"

it features kanye, lupe, and pharrell. it's a nice track, and in the music video includes lil kanye, lil lupe, and lil pharrell. mini kanye is even sportin' a louie backpack, bright polos, and those vented sunglasses. trippy.

thats it for today.
what am i looking forward to?
why it's the FAT-tastic event, of course, of course.

"your boy is back"

yes sir, yes sir.
it's been a while, but i'm back.

i don't know if anyone is still reading. i've been busy with work. assimilating into the workforce took some adjusting and getting used to.

overall work has been great experience. i've been meeting a lot of people, hopefully connections that'll line me up with another job after this project. i've also realized there different kinds of people with different personalities, and shoving them into a room makes for the end result to be... interesting. but i should digress from that subject. everyone is very nice and i've been learning a great deal.

i've been working 9-6 but with the rush of an upcoming dead the studio hired 6 more people on board and created two shifts - 6 am to 2 pm, and 2 pm to 12 am.

soooooooooooooooooo that's why i'm here blogging. it's my first day on this schedule and i feel like crashing. waking up 5 in the morning is not very fun to say the least, but i do admit i have more time to get things done. the commute is cut by a third and that definitely lowers the blood pressure. i now have the urge to clean my art table. but we'll see how that plays out.

and we'll see if i'll keep up the blogging.

chasin' the dolla

it's been a while since i've blogged. working totally sucks. but the pay check does help with the suck-i-ness.

4th and ocean park
i took this with my phone on my walk to work. it's about 4 blocks from the office.

the commute sucks. it takes three times as much time to get there with traffic. accepting it for what it is helps though.
sometimes the traffic is so slow on both directions i can people watch.

plus i see regulars on the freeway which is pretty interesting, like the guy with the VW bus, or the guy on the motorcycle with a padlock hanging from his jacket.
