at work the other day someone was having problems with some grammar. the guy walks right past me and to the white guy across from him and asks him. wtf?
the question was something about using the word "they" when referring to someone. something like "they got away" and of course the white guy gave them the wrong answer. they didn't ask me so i didn't say anything and just kept working.
then the next day the same guy was getting a head count for chinese noodles that for lunch. he goes over to the white guy sitting across from me and asks him and then looks at me and says "oh, of course you're gonna eat."
wtf does that mean? that statement works on two levels of racism/stereotyping. one, asians are stingy and wouldn't pass up anything free, and two, you're asian therefore there is no question you're going to eat your kind's food.
yeah that guy was asian. fucking asians.
