dunnys for the 2010

kidrobot released a new dunny series for the 2010 appropriately named "dunny 2010!" like the past series of dunnys, the designs are hit and miss for me so i cheated a bit and bought these on ebay instead of buying blind boxes.

i really like the design of this dunny. the artist chopped off the head and made it into a balloon with a reflective metallic finish, and the string made of plastic is designed to support the head. it's pretty ingenious.


the last two designs are by the artist "sket one." i guess he's head lining the series with two designs in the series. also, his "boom" design being used as the box cover.

the "boom" dunny reminds me Roy Lictenstien pop art where he painted comic book like art. the tomato ketchup dunny reminds of those mini, one serving, ketchup bottles you get from room service at hotels. the series actually has variants of that designs with relish and mustard. it's a pretty neat concept, but i don't think i can afford to get the variants.
