thank you everyone who came by during the 6-7.
i had a chance to speak with several recruiters who are looking for animators, and they seem promising. now i just have to get them lined up.
it was a mix of nervousness and anxiety before the show started. then a couple of minutes before the show started i was like "alright common, bring them on" and looking forward to talking them. i was handing out business cards/dvd/resumes to who ever wanted to take them. it felt like dog eat dog out there, seeing them pass by other animator tables.
i dare even say it was fun. it's one thing to see you're fellow classmates and peers laughing and enjoying your reel, but it's an entirely different ball of wax when you see company reps digging your stuff and actually laughing out loud. i guess it's just reassurance that i can actually do the work.
i even had the chance to talk to some students who came by to check out the show during some down time. it was weird giving them advice. i felt like "am i even in position to give them advice? why yes i am... damn that's a scary thought..."
but i remember how it was to be in their shoes, so i just told them what to look out for and how to get it completed.
a lot of people were asking for websites and i was kicking myself for not having one. but one is in the works. so keep an eye out for that.

i have step one completed.
now for pictures.

this was the basic set up of my table. candy to bait the employers. vhs no one picked up. a laptop on the side for people who wanted a better listen from the room noise.

my mom and sis came too, yeah i know it the composition leaves more to be desired.

this was how it looked from my position, there were more people behind me. there were also other rooms for the other majors. standing there for 3 hours took a toll, but overall it was actually quite fun.

thanks for coming guys, i really appreciated it. it was nice to see familiar faces. man i look short in that picture. thanks jev for clearing out everyone when the employers came by, and sabotaging other animator's tables triad style.
after dinner we went over to "the counter" for burgers. they have such good fries and onion rings. you have to try it whenever you're in the area. it was damn busy though.

i couldn't help but snap a picture of their bathroom sign.
and if you're bernice, no, the guy doesn't have this arms behind him, although i do piss like that. you just can't control the animal, you have to let it be and free.
all in all great night, friends, family, good food. i passed out in the car and got up to get into bed, and slept for 12 hours. i'll be missing that when i start working.
up next: graduation...............................
