i don't know if it's because the christmas displays were up in coscto this weekend, despite the fact there is still halloween and thanksgiving in the way before christmas, or because i'm watching sleepless in seattle like a middle aged single love sick hopeless romantic woman, but i'm looking forward to christmas. it's not the whole idea behind christmas with all the religion.
there's just something about christmas that brings the best out of people. everyone is just generally nicer, and people are just closer. you go to any store, from the mom and pop liquor store owned by koreans to the heartless cooperate mega marts like wal-mart, everyone is just nicer, humane, smiles with thank yous, you're welcomes and politeness.
people are closer and people stop their fast-paced lives to think about and spend time with family and friends. why wouldn't i be looking forward to that? my family doesn't even celebrate christmas and i'm looking forward to it.
why can't everyone in the world be like this year round?
but i guess without hate, there can be no love.
i think i need another beer.
