there's a del taco commercial running nowadays for their new 99 cent classic taco. it features an old couple ordering a stripper pole on the internet and a ups guy delivering the pole. the wife answers the door and she tells delivery guy to bring it in.
the wife tells her husband "honey, my stripper pole is here," and the husband while eating a classic taco answers, "put it in the back next to the swing," leaving the delivery man astonished. this commercial is apart of their new "go bold" campaign.
it's not really funny and it never really appealed to me, but last night i was watching tv with my mom and she caught the commercial. she asked me in cantonese, "i don't get it, what does a ups guy delivering a package to an old couple have to do with tacos?"
i thought about it for a second, and i shurgged hoping that would curb her curiosity.
"is there something i'm missing?" she asked.
i didn't have the heart nor did i want to get into those details of the commercial with my mom so i answered, trying to keep a straight face, "i just don't know."
