07.07.07

i'm finally back from vegas. it seems like i've been gone for a while even though it's only been 2 days. a fun two days. it turned out to be one of the best vegas trips i've ever had.

the drive was fine, thanks ber and jev for driving. but it was damn hot over at vegas. one hundred friggin' fourteen damn degrees during the day, and 100 at night.

our first visit was to the rio where the current wsop was being held. it was an out of the world experience because we got there around when the tournament started for the day and there were poker celebrities walking by. jev got some shirts signed took pictures with a couple of them. jev at times even seemed giddy, like a kid in a candy shop. it was weird seeing scottie nguyen in person when you've seen him on tv for so many times.

vegas was crowded with brides getting married because of the date. they were everywhere and anywhere. it was a bit out of place to see women in their wedding gowns walking around at a buffet, but hey it's vegas. although the idea of getting married on 07.07.07 just because it's 07.07.07 seems ridiculous to me. i'm not sure anyone should be getting married if they need their wedding day on a "lucky" day.

the sammi concert was an experience. it felt as though i was back home in mpk with so many asians there. we got bumped up closer to the stage because of seating issues so that was nice to get a better view. jev even bumped into some friends he new from college. what a small world. it was a great show overall, sammi sung a lot of her old classic songs. after the concert it made me want to re-watch her movies and listen to her cds.

after the concert jev friends and us went to the bar and it was interesting meeting his friend. he had moved to vegas for a project and it got me wondering how it would be like to move to vegas for a job and whether or not i'd want to.

the next morning we woke up early for the pool. it was warm even in the morning. this was the first time i actually used the swimming facilities at a hotel in vegas. we had forgotten to pack swimming attire and ended up visiting the local ross.

checkout was a breeze but eveyone was leaving at the same time and the vallet took 45 minutes. people was getting antsy and started complaining. that's probably the only part of the trip that bugged me. but it was off to "egg and i" for some delicious egg associated dishes, a place i'd recommend for breakfast for anyone visiting vegas.

jev asked us all in the car as we were driving back "what did you see yourself doing now when you were younger?" my response was "going out," that's what i saw myself doing. doing what we were doing at the moment, out with friends and having a good time. i remember going to vegas and seeing everyone having a great time with their buddies and i thought about how different it would be when i was older and with friends. it's weird when you're living what you've been picturing since childhood.
