chop house motherf*ck@!

jane and i checked out arroyo chop house in pasadena on saturday. i called before i left the house at 7:00 for reservations and they said the next available was at 9:30, so we decided to go there anyway hoping it wouldn't be that long. when we got there the hostess said it was about a 1 1/2 hour wait, since there was a bar there we stayed. not 30 mins had passed the hostess seated us. awesome!

the service there was pretty good. i've never been there but the ambiance was nice. there's valet parking and the restaurant was a brick building and it gives it a human touch. there was a fireplace inside and a person playing the piano in a corner inside that added a nice touch. i spied a bottle of louis the xiii on the highest shelf, oh and the bartenders were actually nice. the restaurant was quite small but there were small private rooms for larger parties. the waiter didn't bug us with the specials, he just asked if we wanted to hear them instead of spewing them out when we knew what we wanted. he came by to check with us a couple of times but not so much it bugged or interrupt conversations.

raw oysters to start off with, no couscous this time. the oysters were amazing, probably because i hadn't had them in so long, but how can you screw up raw oysters?

a apologize but the pic was taken mid meal. i couldn't wait to try the steak and i forgot to snap a shot of it before i started eating.
my steak was cooked just the way i asked for, and i just remember chewing it and the meat was so tender it felt like meat just chewed itself.

the chop house overall is a nice steak house. i don't really care for the name, it kinda degrades it if you ask me, but tasty food. the menu said top 2% of chows selected for their meat. it makes you kinda re-evaluate your whooper beef patty.

so that's it for this review. i hope it was enough for all you people at work looking for something to do other than the mundane office work.

flemmings is next on the list!
