obey obama

i've noticed these obama hope stickers on cars, and they were graphically intriguing. i was really attracted to them. they reminded me of the propaganda posters of the world war I and II ear of china/america/russia, which i think reflects prefectly on obama. plus there's a subtle red white and blue color palette used.

to me, sure he symbolizes hope and change, but he also symbolizes bringing back the classic president who is kempt and well spoken, and knows what he's talking about; something we've forgotten and lost with the current administration in office. but i digress before i get too preachy and political. i have my opinion and views but i'm not going to subject you to them.

upon further research it turns out they're by shepard fairey the same artist who created the "obey" campaign and with the infamous "andre the giant" posters plastered city-wide and later the clothing line.

on his website fairey talks about how the posters is in a way a protest against the war in iraq.
other artist are also contributing to the obama line of poster/sticker/art. i'm really digging them and you can check out the designs and buy them at this website.

the stickers have influenced me to create my own posters and designs. but these are purely for fun and there's no meaning or symbolism behind them. i'm sure they didn't use photoshop to create their designs, probably illustrator, but hey close enough, and i enjoyed spending hours on them.
